Are you looking to ship your cargo safely? If so, you will need to understand…
The first arrival of an 18,000-TEU vessel to North America marks the beginning of the Port of Los Angeles quickly becoming a major player in trans-Pacific shipping. According to the Journal of Commerce, Los-Angeles based APM Terminals set the standard for the management of mega-ships, processing the enormous CMA CGM Benjamin Franklin in less than sixty hours of operation. They averaged twenty-nine lifts per crane every hour, with two hundred container moves each hour.
“It’s fitting that the largest container ship to ever traverse North American waters would make its first call right here at the Port of Los Angeles,” said Mayor Eric Garcetti. “The arrival of the CMA CGM Benjamin Franklin sends a powerful message that our port stands among the world’s greatest, and that we are prepared to continue growing and adapting to the demands of our global economy.”
Los Angeles and Oakland ports reported no congestion issues at the gates and container yards processing the larger cargo surges. As the West Coast positions itself for consistent service every week to several of the largest container vessels in the world, CFR Classic is ready to offer reliable enclosed container shipping to Asia and the Pacific, with warehouse locations in both Los Angeles and San Francisco and throughout the United States.
