Although there are additional fees when compared to our roll-on/roll-off service, these are shared between the vehicle owners using the containers. Included in the charges are a terminal handling charge, trucking and unloading charges, and customs clearance fees.

*Although you have the advantage of sharing the additional handling charges, you might have a longer wait before your vehicle departs – the container must be fully loaded before it ships out. On the other hand, you’ll have the added security of importing in a fully enclosed container.

Full Container Load – Just like our shared container service, you’ll have the peace of mind of a fully enclosed container, but this one is dedicated solely to your vehicle. Since departure isn’t dependent on other cars, you’ll have a shorter wait between departure and arrival. This benefit comes at a cost, as you’ll end up paying more in fees.

Enclosed container import is more secure, since your vehicle isn’t exposed to the weather and other elements. Upon arrival at our terminal, your vehicle’s condition and loading process will be documented with photos. All our containers utilize a modern steel loading system that minimizes the risk of damage, as it doesn’t use outdated wood ramps and nails. Not only is this system more secure, but also environmentally friendly.

After your vehicle is loaded and secured, the container door is locked, ensuring no one will gain access to your vehicle prior to reaching its final destination. Since your vehicle will be in a fully enclosed and secured container, you’re welcome to pack and transport other items inside your car. However, all items must be loaded securely, as we won’t be responsible for loss or damage of any kind.

Upon arrival to Sweden, the container will be accessed by our agent and the vehicle’s condition and unloading process will be fully documented with photographs. As opposed to our roll-on/roll-off service, container import is faster due to frequent departures each week.

For temporary registration after importing your vehicle to Sweden, you must register for road traffic insurance with a Swedish insurance company. When importing a car from the US, temporary registration means the use of the vehicle is restricted. Upon registration inspection approval, your vehicle will be registered in the Swedish Traffic Registry. Your vehicle will be allocated a registration number automatically – registration certificate as well as plates will be sent to your permanent Swedish address.

Once you receive your registration certificate and plates, you’ll be able to activate the registration with the Swedish Transportation Agency.
